Christian Leaders recruits, trains and mobilizes an army of Christian leaders to disciple America.
Imagine families all across America stopping for a few minutes each day to read the Bible, memorize Scripture, and perhaps even sing a little together. Imagine teachable moments of discipleship occurring during those times in the form of answered questions, shared family jokes, and healed relationships. Imagine Christian leaders being brought up to carry on the vision of this kind of discipleship in their own homes.
After planting three churches between 1987 and 1996, Rev. Henry Reyenga, Jr. co-founded LifeNet 21 with Rev. Steve Elzinga. The purpose of Lifenet 21 was to encourage Christians to stay in the Word of God more faithfully. After LifeNet 21 merged with the Bible League in 1998, Henry founded Christian Leaders on January 1, 2002, under the sponsorship of Family of Faith Church in Monee, Illinois. Henry Reyenga currently serves as President of Christian Leaders and as Senior Pastor of Family of Faith Church. Family of Faith is a home-discipleship church that supports and encourages home-discipleship activities in families.
Henry Reyenga, created Christian Leaders to recruit, train and mobilize Christian leaders to disciple America. He envisions churches across the country that would ask fathers and mothers to step forward in leading their homes, then create an encouraging environment on Sunday morning where the home’s success is a key priority.
Christian Leaders plants new churches dedicated to training families in home-discipleship. The best way to form habits of spiritual growth, like talking and listening to God repeatedly, is within a church setting with constant encouragement and accountability.
Families in home-discipleship churches stay faithful to patterns and habits that bring their children into a consistent walk with Christ and the Word of God. These future Christian leaders are grounded in the truth of God, ready to build a strong Christian culture honoring to God, and ready to set an example of righteous living for the rest of the world.
In the fall of 2006, Christian Leaders started Christian Leaders Institute, which is dedicated to training leaders for home-discipleship style churches.
In 2007, Christian Leaders received its own 501 (c) 3 status and is governed by a national and local board.
